What intentional routines make your daily life feel peaceful?
Jill and Victoria are besties who met at church and bonded over their ability to spend time together after work because they are both single. From walks to cooking to going to the gym, incorporating a friend into your intentional routines can bring much happiness and joy to solo living.
Here are their suggestions for creating rhythms that support independence, reduce stress, and make daily life feel peaceful for single, working women.

As a single adult, find ways to do the normal rhythms of life with others
– clean to have people over
– cook for people
– meal prep, even if it’s not the same recipes
– gym or walking
– host monthly girls nights in, complete with crafts and snacks
– run boring errands together
– hang out with a friend and do your own admin tasks
– weekly small group
– church
– do hospitality in other people’s homes
– intentionally make friends with those in different seasons of life

As a single adult, find ways to have a happy home alone
– celebrate that you can pick the noise and cleanliness level in your house
– enjoy doing the things you want to do, even if there is decision paralysis occasionally
– make your home a refuge by investing in things that matter and spending a little more on things that feel cozy/welcoming to you
– create routines such as fancy coffee, letting light in, and reading before going out
– enjoy being in your home
– have activities you can enjoy doing at home
There are many blessings to being single, just as there are to being married and having kids. A few of them, for those who live alone, can include not having to reset your house as often and generally being ready to have people over or go out with less notice.
Enjoying being in your home is a rhythm of a happy home, and Jill and Victoria have found joy and independence in this season of life through intentional routines as single working women.
